image (12)Tis the season for giving back and what better way to warm up the city during this cold front than a clothing drive?

We have teamed up with startups across the city to collect housewares, small electronics, toys, and, of course, warm clothes, for the Oasis Clothing Bank. Unlike large corporations with large budgets, Oasis is a local company that relies on donations and community support.  With 800 participants currently in their program, Oasis is helping recovering addicts and their families integrate back into society.

We started the initiative as a way to give back to our Toronto community and to spread holiday cheer. Many people have items sitting in their homes not being used that can be donated to people who need it most during these cold months.

Screen Shot 2016-01-05 at 3.12.28 PMThrough the #StartupsWarmupTO initiative, over 1000 people are being reached at local startups with drop off bins at 11 locations: Hubba, MaRS, Nulogy, OneElevenPivotal Labs, PumpUp, Rubikloud, Scalar, Scribble Live, Street Contxt and UXP Systems. The campaign began December 14th, just in time for the holidays, and is running through to February 13th.

With almost 100 Oasis donation bins located throughout the GTA, there’s a location near you! Clean out your closets and help Startups warmup Toronto. Visit the Oasis website to see items that are being accepted. Together we can make a difference. Share your contributions on social media using the #StartupsWarmupTO hashtag!
